Keith was born in Columbia, South Carolina and grew up in East Tennessee. He lived overseas in England for 4 years during middle school but returned to the states in time to graduate from high school in Blountville, TN. After graduating from high school Keith joined the 82nd Airborne Division and was rapidly promoted to the rank of sergeant. He completed his 4 year tour of duty as a paratrooper at Fort Bragg and enrolled at The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. After receiving his undergraduate degree from UNC Keith attended The University of South Carolina and was awarded his law degree in 1997.

Upon completing his education Keith returned to Tennessee and practiced law in both Johnson City and Nashville before a fascination with the stock market and his desire to work more closely with his clients led him to a career change in 2004 when he joined Legg Mason as a financial advisor. Subsequently, Legg Mason was acquired by Smith Barney and in 2006 Keith decided that his clients' interests would best be served at a smaller regional firm leading Keith to join Shoemaker Financial.

Keith is a licensed securities agent, investment advisor representative, and insurance agent. He also holds the CFS designation (Certified Funds Specialist) and is a member of the Million Dollar Round Table as well as the recipient of the Excellence in Performance award. He is a Registered Representative of Securian Financial Services.

Keith is a member of the Nashville Bar association, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and Middle Tennessee MENSA. He serves on the asset allocation committee of the Williamson County YMCA and is an active member of Bethel World Outreach in Brentwood.
