Brenda joined the Shoemaker Financial team in October, 2007, bringing 26 years of experience in the financial services industry. She was previously owner and principal for 21 years at Charter Financial Group in Newburgh, Indiana. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, Brenda’s long term dedication to financial services continues as she provides the expertise necessary to help individuals through seminars, workshops, and individual meetings to fulfill dreams and goals that affect their lives today and tomorrow. She is a registered representative of Securian Financial Services.

She has taught courses on a variety of financial planning concepts and retirement strategies at numerous universities and major corporations, such as University of Evansville, University of Southern Indiana, Vincennes University, Brescia College, Alcoa and Whirlpool.

Brenda has been actively involved in her community over the years through the activities of her two children as a Den Leader with the Boy Scouts, running the Castle Band concessions for many years, supporting many recreational baseball, soccer and basketball teams; and currently serving as Secretary for Bible Study Fellowships Evening Women’s program. Currently she is a member of the Newburgh Presbyterian Church serving as Elder and Chairman of the Memorial Investment Committee.

Originally from Owensboro Kentucky, Brenda has called Newburgh home for 29 years along with Mark, her husband of 31 years. In her spare time she enjoys reading, baking, sewing and the many hours spent in perfecting her ballroom dance skills.
