Michael Powell CFP®
Michael has been in the financial services industry since 2014 and with Shoemaker Financial his entire career. Prior to starting with the firm, he attained his Bachelors in Business Administration at Mississippi State University. At MSU, he was a sports medicine trainer with the football, men’s basketball, and baseball programs for 4 years.
As a financial advisor, Michael has built his practice with a mindset of empowering his clients to make smart financial decisions using comprehensive financial planning. In 2018, Michael was awarded his Certified Financial Planner designation and has committed himself to providing financial planning services that adhere to the CFP Board’s standards of excellence. He also holds FINRA Series 7 & 66 registrations and is licensed to offer life, health, disability, annuities, and long-term care insurance products.
Michael works with multi-generational families, small businesses, and medical professionals. He specializes in student loan repayment strategies and speaks at multiple post-graduate schools throughout the year. Michael is a vetted speaker with the Veterinary Business Management Association.
Michael grew up in Southaven, MS but now resides in Memphis, TN. He is currently serving on his local Mississippi State alumni chapter board as President. He enjoys spending his time with his family and friends, playing golf and basketball, and traveling. He is an avid fan of the Memphis Grizzlies.
