Michael graduated from Mississippi College in 1986 with a degree in Business Administration and an emphasis in Finance. Michael minored in Mass Media Communications. Before Michael began in the Financial Services Industry he served as an International Operations Manager.

He started his career at Shoemaker Financial in 1991, and completed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional Education program from the American College Bryn Mar, PA in 1998. Michael received the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation from Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards in 1998. In 2005 he received the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation from the American College. Michael holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 Registrations and is licensed to sell Life, Health, Long Term Care, Disability Insurance, Fixed Annuities and Variable Annuities. He is a Registered Representative of Securian Financial Services.

Michael was born in Monroe, LA and raised in Clinton, MS. He was a Founding Board member of the Olive Youth Football and Cheerleading league. Michael serves as the North Mississippi Chairman of Feather Society of Ducks Unlimited as well as a Chairman of Olive Branch chapter of Ducks Unlimited. He is an audio/visual consultant for DeSoto Central Football team. Michael is also a contributing sports writer and photographer for DeSoto Tribune newspaper. Michael serves as a teacher at Trinity Baptist Church in Southaven. Michael and his wife Marie have two children, Bruce and Shelby.
